Mazu(a chinese god )

Mazu,the Heavenly Mother, The widely-respected Mazu was born on March 23,960(Chinese lunar calendar).

At sixteen, when Mazu and her friends were playing beside a well, she was instructed by a god and acquired a profound understanding of the wisdom and power of Buddhism, which she used to give cure to the sick 、 evil-ridden people 、Exorcism by Phytophthora and eliminating hazards.

On the double Ninth Festival in 987, Mazu bade farewell to her family and climbed up to the peak of Meishan and became an incarnated goddess.

In the 33^rd year of the Kangxi Reign (1694), a monk named Subi brought a statue of goddess Mazu from the Chaotian Temple at Meizhou, Fujian Province, china, and landed on the present site of Chaotian Temple at Beigang, Taiwan.

Beigang Chaotian Temple is virtually the center of Mazu worship in the global.
